Fairless Hills is a community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that the government counts for population numbers. However, it is not an officially separate town or city.
In 2020, about 9,041 people lived in Fairless Hills. This number was a bit higher than the 8,466 people counted in 2010.
History of Fairless Hills
Fairless Hills started to be built in 1951. A company called Danherst Corporation began putting up prefabricated homes. These were houses built in sections in a factory and then put together on site.
The houses were made by Gunnison Magichomes, Inc. This company was owned by U.S. Steel, a very large steel company. U.S. Steel helped pay for the development with a big loan.
The community was named after Benjamin Franklin Fairless. He was the president of U.S. Steel at that time. Many people who bought homes in Fairless Hills worked at the "Fairless Works" plant. This was a large steel factory run by U.S. Steel.
The Sotcher Farmhouse is an old building in the area. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. This means it is an important historical site.
