Mohamed Fairuz bin Mohamed Fauzy (born 24 October 1982) is a Malaysian former professional race car driver. He was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Fairuz Fauzy's Early Racing Days

Fairuz started his racing journey in 1994 by competing in karting events. Karting is a type of racing with small, open-wheel vehicles called karts.
In 1999, he moved to British Formula Ford, which is a step up from karting. He then raced in British Formula Renault in 2000, where he improved his driving skills. By 2002, he was competing in British Formula 3, a more advanced racing series.
Fairuz joined the GP2 Series in 2005. This series is often seen as a stepping stone to Formula One. He also raced for A1 Team Malaysia in the A1 Grand Prix series.
In 2009, Fairuz competed in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. He had a fantastic season, finishing second overall in the championship. This was a big achievement in his career.
Fairuz's Formula One Journey
Fairuz Fauzy became a test and reserve driver for the Spyker F1 team in 2007. This meant he helped the main drivers by testing the car and was ready to step in if needed.
Later, in 2010, he joined Lotus Racing as their third driver. He took part in several practice sessions during Formula One Grand Prix weekends.
For example, he drove in the first practice session at the 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix. He also participated in practice sessions at the British, German, and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. At the end of 2010, Fairuz left Lotus Racing.
In 2011, Fairuz became a test and reserve driver for Renault F1. He worked alongside other talented drivers like Bruno Senna and Romain Grosjean.
Racing After Formula One
After his time in Formula One, Fairuz wanted to race full-time again. In 2011, he rejoined Super Nova Racing for the GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series. He scored his first points in the main GP2 series during the first race of the season. He finished 18th in the championship that year.
Fairuz continued to race in various series, including Super GT and GT Asia Series, showing his passion for motorsports.
