Fastball is an American rock band from Austin, Texas. The band started in the 1990s. At first, they were called Magneto U.S.A.. Later, they changed their name to Fastball.
The Band's Story
Fastball quickly became popular in their hometown of Austin, Texas. Their first album, Make Your Mama Proud, came out in 1996.
The band became very famous with their second album. This album was called All The Pain Money Can Buy and was released in 1998. A song from this album, The Way, became a huge hit. This song was inspired by a true story about an elderly couple who got lost while traveling. Tony Scalzo, who wrote the song, gave the story a happier ending in the lyrics.
All The Pain Money Can Buy had another popular song called Out Of My Head. The song Fire Escape was also played a lot on the radio. Fastball's later albums, like The Harsh Light Of Day and Keep Your Wig On, did not sell as many copies.
