Felicia Pride is an American writer, director, and producer. She has written six books, including the young adult novel Patterson Heights. Felicia Pride has also written for popular TV shows like Queen Sugar and Grey's Anatomy. Her short film tender won an award in 2020.

Early Life and Education
Felicia Pride was born in 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland. When she was young, her family moved to West Orange, New Jersey. She lived there until she was eleven years old. Then, she returned to Baltimore for middle and high school.
She went to Towson University and studied marketing. Later, in 2005, she earned her master's degree. This degree was in writing and publishing from Emerson College.

Writing Books
Felicia Pride started her writing career in 2001. She wrote for a community newspaper called Black Reign News. This newspaper was based in Staten Island, New York. Over 15 years, she wrote six books.
Her book, The Message: Life Lessons from Hip-Hop's Greatest Songs, came out in 2007. This book has been used to teach in classrooms. It was even re-released by NBCUniversal. Her young adult novel, Patterson Heights, was a special pick in 2010. The American Library Association chose it for young readers who might not enjoy reading much.
Working in TV and Film
Felicia Pride's first film was a short drama called The End Again. It came out in 2014. She wrote and co-produced this film. In 2016, she was chosen as a Screenwriting Fellow by Film Independent. This is a special program for talented screenwriters.
She joined the writing team for the TV show Queen Sugar in its fourth season. She also helped edit the stories for the show's fifth season. Felicia Pride is also a writer for the popular TV show Grey's Anatomy.
In 2020, her short film tender won an award. It received the STARZ/Lionsgate Short Film Award. This happened at the 2020 BlackStar Film Festival. That same year, she also helped write and produce a feature film. This film was called Really Love. It won an award for its acting at SXSW 2020.
In 2021, it was announced that her romantic drama script is being made into a film. The movie is called Like It's the Last. She is also an executive producer for this project.
