Felipe Juan Froilán de Todos los Santos de Marichalar y Borbón, often known as Froilán, was born on 17 July 1998. He is the older child and only son of Infanta Elena, Duchess of Lugo, and Jaime de Marichalar.
Felipe is the grandson of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía of Spain. His uncle is the current King, Felipe VI. He is fourth in line to the line of succession to the Spanish throne. This means he is after his cousins, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofía of Spain, and his mother, Infanta Elena.
He has a younger sister named Victoria de Marichalar y Borbón. She is two years younger than him.
Early Life
Birth and Christening
Felipe de Marichalar y Borbón was born in Madrid, Spain. He was born at the Ruber International Hospital on 17 July 1998.
He was baptized on Sunday, 4 October 1998. The ceremony took place at the Zarzuela Palace. The Archbishop of Madrid led the service. His godparents were his grandfather, King Juan Carlos I of Spain, and his grandmother, Concepción Sáez de Tejada.
Education
Felipe first studied at Colegio San Patricio in Madrid. He stayed there until he was twelve years old. Because he struggled with his grades, his parents decided he should attend a boarding school.
He went to Cottesmore, a boarding school in England, for a year. In 2011, he returned to Madrid. He then attended Colegio Santa María del Pilar for three years. During this time, he had to repeat one year of secondary school (ESO).
In 2014, he moved to the Sagrada Familia Episcopal College in Sigüenza. He finished his secondary education there the next year. In September 2015, Felipe went to the United States. He completed his high school education there in 2017. He attended Blue Ridge School and Culver Military Academy. His grandfather, King Juan Carlos I, paid for his schooling. Each year, the tuition cost about $45,000.
After high school, he started college in Madrid. He studied Business Administration and Management. He attended the College for International Studies. This college is connected with Endicott College.
Titles and Honours
Felipe holds the title of Grandee of Spain. This is a very important and old title in Spain. He is also known as the Lord of Tejada.
