Fernando Daniel Rodrigues Almeida (born May 11, 1996), known as Fernando Daniel, is a talented Portuguese singer and songwriter. He became famous after winning the fourth season of The Voice Portugal in 2016.

Starting Out: Factor X in 2014

Fernando Daniel loved singing from a young age. He first showed his talent on a TV show called Factor X in 2014. This show is like the Portuguese version of The X Factor. He tried out alone, but even though he didn't make it past the piano stage, the judges really liked his voice.

They decided to put him in a group called BABEL with another singer. The group did very well, finishing in 4th place overall in the competition. This was his first big step into the music world!

Winning The Voice Portugal in 2016

In 2016, Fernando Daniel decided to try his luck again on another big TV show: The Voice Portugal. For his first audition, called the "blind audition," he sang a song by Adele called "When We Were Young." All four coaches loved his performance and turned their chairs for him! He chose to join Team Mickael Carreira.

His audition was a huge hit! It became the most-watched audition ever for The Voice shows around the world. On YouTube, his performance has been watched over 120 million times. Fernando Daniel went on to win the entire show in December, thanks to lots of votes from the public.

First Songs and Eurovision Dream in 2017

After winning The Voice, Fernando Daniel was invited to sing in a competition called Festival da Canção. This show helps choose who will represent Portugal in the big Eurovision Song Contest 2017. He sang a song called "Poema a Dois" and finished in 5th place. Portugal later won Eurovision that year with another singer, Salvador Sobral.

In July 2017, Fernando Daniel released his very first original song, "Espera." This song became popular and was even used in a Portuguese TV show. "Espera" was part of his first music album, Salto, which came out in March 2018.

Winning an MTV Award in 2019

Fernando Daniel continued to grow as an artist. In 2019, he won a special award called the Best Portuguese Act. He received this exciting prize at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards event in Seville, Spain.

Becoming a Coach on The Voice (2021-Present)

From 2021 to 2023, Fernando Daniel took on a new role: a coach on The Voice Kids, which is the children's version of The Voice Portugal. He was the first winner of The Voice Portugal to become a coach!

He was a very successful coach. In his first season, his contestant, Simão Oliveira, won the show. Simão then went on to represent Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Paris, with a song that Fernando Daniel helped compose. Fernando Daniel's team won again in 2022 and 2023, making him the winning coach for three years in a row! This was a record for the show.

In 2023, Fernando Daniel became a coach on the main The Voice Portugal show, seven years after he won it himself. He returned as a coach for season 12 in 2024, and his artist, Rafael Ribeiro, won the season! This win tied him with another coach, Marisa Liz, for the most wins across all versions of the show.
