Filip Peliwo (born January 30, 1994) is a professional tennis player. He was born in Canada but started playing for Poland in 2022. Filip is famous for his amazing junior career.
He became the first Canadian boy to win a Grand Slam title in singles. He won the Wimbledon boys' title in 2012. The very next day, his fellow Canadian, Eugenie Bouchard, also won a junior Grand Slam. After his Wimbledon win, Filip became the number one junior tennis player in the world in July 2012. He then won his second junior Grand Slam title at the US Open later that year. He also reached the finals of the junior Australian Open and French Open in 2012.

Early Life and Training
Filip Peliwo was born in Vancouver, Canada. His parents, Mark and Monika, are from Poland. He learned to play tennis at the North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver. From 2009 to 2012, he trained at the National Training Centre in Montreal. Filip is the only one of his three siblings who was not born in Poland.

Junior Successes
Filip had a fantastic junior tennis career. In December 2011, he reached the semifinals of the important Orange Bowl tournament. At the start of 2012, he won a big junior tournament in Traralgon, Australia. He beat the junior world number one player, Luke Saville, in that final.
Filip then made it to the final of the junior Australian Open. He lost to Luke Saville in a close match. He reached his second Grand Slam final in a row at the French Open. This time, he lost to Kimmer Coppejans.
After reaching his third Grand Slam final in a row at Wimbledon, Filip finally won his first junior Grand Slam title. He defeated defending champion Luke Saville. He was the second Canadian to win a junior Grand Slam singles title. Eugenie Bouchard had won the girls' title the day before.
Filip reached his fourth junior Grand Slam final in a row at the US Open. He beat Liam Broady to win his second Grand Slam title. As a junior player, Filip won 92 matches and lost 44.

Starting as a Professional (2012-2018)
In March 2012, Filip reached his first professional semifinal at a tournament in Rimouski, Canada. He became a full-time professional player in September 2012, right after winning the junior US Open. In November, he played in his first professional singles final in Mérida, Mexico.
In 2013, Filip continued to improve. He played in his second singles final at a tournament in Marathon, Greece. Because he was the 2012 junior champion, he got a special entry to play in the qualifying rounds at Wimbledon. He won his first match there against a higher-ranked player.
Later in 2013, Filip got a special entry into the main part of the Rogers Cup, a big ATP Tour tournament. He surprised everyone by beating a top-40 player, Jarkko Nieminen. This was his first win at an ATP Tour event! In September, he won his first professional title at a tournament in Markham, Canada.
In 2014, Filip played in the main part of an ATP tournament without a special entry for the first time. He won his first match at the Grand Prix Hassan II in April. He also reached two singles finals at smaller tournaments in Canada.
Filip continued to win titles in the following years. In February 2015, he won his second professional singles title in France. He also won his first professional doubles title that month. In September 2016, he won his fourth singles title in Toronto.
The year 2017 was very successful for Filip. He won many singles and doubles titles at tournaments in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, and Herzliya and Netanya in Israel. He won his sixth singles title of the year in Saskatoon, Canada. In November, Filip won his first ATP Challenger title in Knoxville, USA. This was a big step up in his professional career.
In March 2018, Filip reached his first ATP Challenger doubles final in Drummondville, Canada.
