Fisayo Akinade's Early Life and School
Fisayo Akinade was born in Liverpool, England. He spent four years of his childhood in Nigeria. After that, he moved back to the UK. He grew up in the Fallowfield and Moss Side areas of Manchester.
When he was younger, Fisayo wanted to be a gymnast. However, he got injured. Also, the place where he practiced closed down. So, Fisayo started taking drama classes. He joined the Contact Young Actors Company. He also attended workshops at the Royal Exchange Theatre. Later, he went to train at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. This is a famous acting school.

Fisayo Akinade has acted in many plays and TV shows. On stage, he played Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also played Eros in Antony and Cleopatra. He has been in several National Theatre productions too.
His big break on TV came in 2015. He starred as Dean Monroe in Russell T Davies' drama Cucumber. He also appeared in its related shows Banana and Tofu. In 2016, Fisayo acted with famous stars like Glenn Close in The Girl with All the Gifts.
He was also in the 2019 movie The Personal History of David Copperfield.
In 2020, he performed in the National Theatre musical Barber Shop Chronicles. This show was written by Inua Ellams. It was shown live on stage. It was also streamed online during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
In February 2022, Fisayo starred in The Glow. This play was performed at Royal Court Theatre Downstairs. Fisayo also appeared in the Netflix series Heartstopper. It was released in April 2022.
