Flagami is a cool neighborhood in Miami, Florida, in the United States. It's generally located south and east of the Tamiami Canal. It's also north of the Tamiami Trail (which is US 41 or South Eighth Street). To its west is Red Road (also known as SR 959 or West 57th Avenue). Flagler Street cuts right through the middle of Flagami.
Its name is a mix of two other names: "Flagler" and "Tamiami." If you look at a map of Miami, Flagami looks like a unique "tail" sticking out from the city's western edge. In 2010, about 50,834 people lived in Flagami. Most residents are middle-class Hispanics, along with some white Americans. The homes here include apartments, duplexes, and single-family houses that are usually affordable. The neighborhood is always busy with many small shopping centers. These places attract residents and create a lively atmosphere during the day. At night, various restaurants and popular lounges bring people from all over Miami to Flagami. The area is known for its small, neat, and brightly painted single-family homes.

Flagami is located at 25°45′43″N 80°18′58″W / 25.762°N 80.316°W. The land here is quite low, with an average height of about 3 feet (0.91 m) above sea level.
Alameda: A Part of Flagami
Alameda is a smaller area within Flagami. It's located on Flagami's western side, right next to the Tamiami Canal. Its borders are generally south of NW 7th Street and north of SW 8th Street and Coral Gables. It's roughly between 22nd and 57th Avenues. Sometimes, people also call this area West Flagler. Alameda is located at 25°45′47″N 80°17′53″W / 25.763°N 80.298°W. It has a slightly higher elevation of about 10 feet (3.0 m) above sea level.
Fairlawn: Another Sub-Neighborhood
Fairlawn is another smaller neighborhood inside Flagami. Its unofficial borders stretch from NW 7th Street south to SW 24th Street. It also goes from Florida Blvd west to SW 57th Avenue. This area covers a large part of western Flagami.
Learning in Flagami: Schools and Education
Many people in Flagami have different levels of education. For example, in 2000, about 9,735 residents had not completed ninth grade. Another 6,163 had not finished high school. However, 6,965 residents were high school graduates. A good number of people continued their studies: 4,802 had some college education, 1,981 earned associate degrees, 2,291 received Bachelor's degrees, and 1,571 achieved Graduate Degrees.

In 2000, Flagami had a population of 38,691 people, with a total of 59,474 residents when including all household members. There were 13,896 households and 10,141 families living in the neighborhood. The average income for a household was about $26,641.30 per year.
Most of the people living in Flagami are Hispanic or Latino, making up about 90.08% of the population. About 7.68% were White (non-Hispanic), and 1.85% were Black or African American. A small percentage (0.36%) belonged to Other races (non-Hispanic).
The main postal codes for Flagami are 33125, 33126, and 33144. The entire area covers about 6.378 square miles (16.52 km2). In 2000, there were slightly more females (31,188) than males (28,287).
