Flagg, Oregon, is a small, unincorporated community located in Lane County, Oregon. It started out as a railroad station. This station was part of the important Southern Pacific Line. This railway connected Eugene to Coos Bay.

How Flagg Got Its Name
Flagg was named after a person named L. Randolph Flagg. He was a contractor who worked on the railroad. It was common for towns and stations to be named after important people involved in their creation.
What is an Unincorporated Community?
An unincorporated community is a place that does not have its own local government. This means it is not officially a city or town. Instead, it is usually governed by the county it is in. For Flagg, this means Lane County handles its local services.
