Flintstone is a small community in Allegany County, Maryland, United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Where is Flintstone Located?
Flintstone is nestled between some interesting natural features. It sits at the southern base of Tussey Mountain. It's also near a "water gap" in Warrior Mountain. A water gap is a valley formed when a river or stream cuts through a mountain ridge. Here, Flintstone Creek created this gap.
Flintstone Creek flows into Town Creek, which then travels south to the famous Potomac River. The community is located only about 1 mile south of the Mason–Dixon line, which is the border between Maryland and Pennsylvania.

A historic area called the Breakneck Road Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This means it's recognized for its important history. Flintstone is also located roughly halfway between two major cities: Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh.
