Flirsch is a small community located in the Landeck area of Austria. It is part of the beautiful Tyrol state. Flirsch is about 11 kilometers (7 miles) west of the town of Landeck. It is also 10 kilometers (6 miles) east of Sankt Anton am Arlberg, a well-known ski resort.

A Glimpse into Flirsch's History
People have lived in the area around Flirsch for a very long time. The village itself was first mentioned in official documents in the year 1275. The name "Flirsch" comes from an old language called Rhaeto-Romance. In 1813, Flirsch became its own independent community. This meant it could make its own decisions about local matters.
