Her Life and Work
From Acting to Science
Florentina Mosora started her career as an actress. She was in several Romanian movies. One of her well-known roles was in a film called Dragoste la zero grade (which means "Love at Zero Degrees") in 1964. She also acted in Sub cupola albastră ("Under the Blue Arch") and Băieţii noştri ("Our Boys").
After her acting days, she went to the University of Bucharest. She studied physics there. Later, she moved to Belgium. This is where she focused on her science career.
Important Discoveries
In Belgium, Florentina Mosora worked on a special area of science. She used something called stable isotopes in medicine. Stable isotopes are like special versions of atoms that don't change over time. Scientists use them to learn more about how our bodies work. For example, they can help doctors understand how food is used by the body.
Her research was very important. Because of her excellent work, she received a big award. It was called the Prix Agathon de Potter. This award was given to her for her amazing research in physics by a famous Belgian science group.
Working with Other Scientists
Florentina Mosora also helped organize important science meetings. In 1989, she worked with two other scientists to set up a workshop. This meeting was for NATO, a big international organization. The workshop was about Biomechanical Transport Processes. This means they talked about how things move inside living bodies, like how blood flows or how muscles work.
Florentina Mosora passed away in Liège, Belgium, when she was 56 years old.
