Life in Florissant
Florissant is located just west of where the Hayman fire started in 2002. This fire became the largest in Colorado's history. The community is protected by the Florissant Fire Protection District. This district has two fire stations. They use several fire engines and rescue trucks to keep everyone safe.
Florissant is made up of several smaller neighborhoods. These include Colorado Mountain Estates, Druid Hills, and Indian Creek. The community is also growing and improving. For example, a new library was recently added. This library offers many modern services. It has computers, fast internet, and wireless access for everyone.
