Football at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's team squads facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The women's football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics was a big event held from July 25 to August 10, 2024. This was a full international tournament, meaning there were no age limits for the players. Each of the twelve national teams had to sign up a team of 18 players, including two goalkeepers. They could also name up to four extra players, called alternates, who could step in if someone got a serious injury during the tournament.

The official lists of all the players and their jersey numbers were shared by FIFA on July 11, 2024. The information for each player, like their position, age (as of July 25, 2024), how many games they played (caps), and how many goals they scored, was based on these official lists before the tournament started. The club listed is where the player last played a competitive match before the Olympics. The country next to the club shows which national football association the club belongs to. If a coach was from a different country than the team they coached, a flag for their nationality is shown.
