Fordyce is a village in Cedar County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 139 at the 2010 census.
Contents
History
Fordyce had its start in 1907 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for William B. Fordyce, a railroad dispatcher.
Geography
Fordyce is located at 42°41′53″N 97°21′47″W / 42.69806°N 97.36306°W (42.698060, -97.363029).

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 139 people, 60 households, and 41 families residing in the village. The population density was 992.9 inhabitants per square mile (383.4/km2). There were 64 housing units at an average density of 457.1 per square mile (176.5/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.6% White and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.5% of the population.
There were 60 households, of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 31.7% were non-families. 30.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.90.
The median age in the village was 44.8 years. 25.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 3.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.7% were from 25 to 44; 29.4% were from 45 to 64; and 20.1% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 53.2% male and 46.8% female.
