Forestburg is a small village located in east-central Alberta, Canada. This area has very rich farmland. The first settlers arrived here in 1905. Soon after, people started coal mining along the Battle River in 1907.
Forestburg's economy is based on farming, coal mining, and oil and gas activities. It's also a big center for generating power. There are about 75 businesses in the village, which means many people have jobs. Major employers include Atco Power Ltd. and Westmoreland Coal. Forestburg is also the main office for the Battle River Railway, a special railway started in 2009.
