Francisca Ordega is a talented Nigerian football player. She was born on October 19, 1993. She plays as a forward, which means she helps score goals. Currently, she plays for Al-Ittihad. Starting Her Club Career
Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels
Francisca started playing football at a young age. She joined the youth team of Bayelsa Queens in Nigeria. By 2008, she was playing for their professional team. In 2011, she moved to Rivers Angels, another top club in Nigeria.
Playing in Russia and Sweden
In 2012, Francisca left Nigeria to play for Rossiyanka, a champion team in Russia. Later, in 2013, she moved to Sweden. She joined Piteå IF in the Damallsvenskan league. She scored her first goal there in May 2013. Between 2013 and 2015, she played 34 games and scored 4 goals for Piteå IF.
Time with Washington Spirit
Francisca then moved to the United States. She signed with Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. In her first season in 2015, she scored three goals. In 2016, she scored two more goals. A very exciting moment was when she scored a goal in extra time during a semifinal game. This goal helped her team reach their first-ever NWSL Championship! In 2017, she played 14 games and scored 4 goals, even though she had a knee injury.
Loans to Other Clubs
While playing for Washington Spirit, Francisca also went on loan to other teams.
- Sydney FC: In December 2016, she played for Sydney FC in Australia. She was the first African player in the Australian W-League. She played six games and scored one goal, helping Sydney finish in third place.
- Atlético Madrid: In October 2017, she joined Atlético Madrid in Spain for six months. She made her first appearance for them in November 2017.
Later Club Moves
After her time with Washington Spirit, Francisca continued to play for different clubs. She moved to Shanghai Shengli in China. In April 2021, she signed with Levante UD in Spain. She hoped to help them qualify for the Champions League. She made her debut for Levante in May 2021. Later, she joined CSKA Moscow in Russia, where she played 62 games and scored 24 goals. As of 2025, she plays for Al-Ittihad.

Youth and Senior National Teams
Francisca Ordega has proudly represented Nigeria at all levels of football. She played for the Nigerian Under-17 team in the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. She also played for the Under-20 team in the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
For the senior national team, the Super Falcons, she has played in many major tournaments. These include the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2011, 2015, and 2019. In the 2015 World Cup, she scored Nigeria's first goal against Sweden. That exciting game ended in a 3–3 draw. She was also part of the Nigerian squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.
African Women's Championship Success
Francisca has been a key player in Nigeria's success at the African Women's Championship. She was part of the teams that won the tournament in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024. In the 2018 tournament in Ghana, she scored two goals and had two assists. She was even named "Woman of the Match" in the final game against South Africa. In February 2021, she helped the Super Falcons win the 2021 Turkish Women's Cup. This made them the first African team to win that invitational tournament.
