Francisco Antonio Encina Armanet (born September 10, 1874, died August 23, 1965) was an important Chilean historian, writer, and politician. He was also a successful businessman in agriculture.
He is most famous for writing a huge 20-volume book called History of Chile from Prehistory to 1891. This was the biggest history book written by one person in Chile during the 20th century. He also helped start Chile's first nationalist political party.
In 1955, he received the National Prize for Literature, a very important award in Chile. A high school in Las Cabras, Chile, is named after him: Liceo Francisco Antonio Encina Armanet.
