Francisco de Meneses Brito was born in the city of Cádiz, Spain, in 1615. His parents were Alonso de Meneses and Catalina Corbalán de Castilla. He later married Catalina Bravo. Her father was Francisco Bravo de Saravia Ovalle, who was known as the 1st Marquess of la Pica.
Role as Governor
As the Royal Governor, Francisco de Meneses Brito was the main leader in Chile. He was responsible for many things, like keeping order, managing the economy, and defending the territory. His time as governor lasted for three years, from 1664 to 1667.
