Frank J. Warnke (May 18, 1933 – September 23, 2011) was an American politician. He served in the government of Washington State. He was a member of both the Washington House of Representatives and the Washington State Senate.

Early Life and Education
Frank Warnke was born in Harlem, Montana. He was a Native American. He grew up in Auburn, Washington. After finishing Auburn High School, he went to college. He studied political science at Central Washington University and the University of Washington. Political science is the study of how governments work.
Before becoming a politician, Frank Warnke served in the United States Coast Guard. This is a part of the U.S. military that protects coasts and helps with sea safety. He was stationed in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Frank Warnke's Career in Public Service
After his time in the Coast Guard, Frank Warnke worked at Boeing for ten years. Boeing is a big company that makes airplanes.
Serving in the Washington State Legislature
Frank Warnke was elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 1964. This is one part of Washington's state government that makes laws. He served there for 12 years. He represented the 30th legislative district.
Later, he was elected to the Washington State Senate. This is the other part of Washington's state government. He served there for eight years. He represented the 31st legislative district.
Helping School Employees
Frank Warnke helped start an organization called Public School Employees of Washington (PSE). This group is a union. A union is a group of workers who join together to protect their rights and improve their working conditions. PSE helps employees who work in school districts. Frank Warnke was the main leader, or executive director, of this organization for 17 years.
He also helped create the Auburn Game Farm Park in Auburn, Washington. This shows his dedication to his local community.

Frank Warnke was married to Beverly. They had two children together. He passed away in Auburn, Washington in 2011.
