Franz Rosei (born 2 July 1947) is an Austrian artist. He is known for making sculptures and drawings. His brother, Peter Rosei, is a writer.

Franz Rosei's Artistic Journey

After finishing high school in 1966, Franz Rosei started creating art. He first worked with wood and gypsum (a soft mineral often used for sculptures). He briefly studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. After that, he decided to work on his own.

He experimented with different materials. He made some sculptures using a technique called concrete casting, where liquid concrete is poured into a mold. From 1970, he mostly worked with stone, like marble, limestone, and sandstone. He also created many drawings using pencil, charcoal, and watercolor. In 1985, Rosei began making sculptures out of bronze.

Franz Rosei's art has been shown for over 30 years. His works have been displayed in many exhibitions. These shows took place in Austria and other countries, including Germany, the United States, Italy, France, and Switzerland.

Rosei's main goal is to share his thoughts about life and the world. He wants to turn his observations and ideas into physical art.
