Franz Schiemer was born in Haag am Hausruck, a town in Upper Austria. He began his football journey in his hometown of Taufkirchen an der Pram, where he played as a striker.

Early Days and Professional Debut

Schiemer joined the youth teams at SV Ried and quickly showed his talent. He made his professional debut for SV Ried during the 2003–04 season. He was only 17 years old at the time. In the same year, he helped his team achieve third place in the U17 European Championship.

Moving to Top Clubs

In 2005, Schiemer moved to Austria Wien, another well-known Austrian club. After four years there, he joined FC Red Bull Salzburg in 2009. He signed a contract with Red Bull Salzburg until June 2012.

Championship Wins

Franz Schiemer had a very successful playing career. He won the Austrian Football Bundesliga, which is Austria's top football league, two times. He first won it with Austria Wien in 2006. Later, he won it again with FC Red Bull Salzburg in 2010. He also won the Austrian Cup four times.

International Matches

Schiemer also played for the Austrian national team. He made his first appearance for Austria in October 2007 against Switzerland. Even though he played well, he was not chosen for the EURO 2008 squad. He played 19 games for his country and scored 4 goals.

Life After Playing: Coaching and Management

On January 1, 2015, Franz Schiemer announced he was retiring from playing football. This decision came after he faced many injuries during his career.
