College Football Career
After high school, Fred Lane went to Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. He became a football legend there! He ran for a total of 3,612 yards during his college career. This made him the school's all-time leading rusher.

Playing in the NFL
Fred Lane joined the Carolina Panthers in 1997. He was signed as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't picked in the NFL draft, but the Panthers still wanted him! He had a fantastic first year, setting many team records.
