Solving the Mystery: The Story of the Hogfish Rustlers
This game takes you on a thrilling detective adventure. Freddi Fish and Luther travel to the Gulf of Mexico to visit Freddi's cousin, Calico Catfish. Calico wants to teach them how to raise special fish called hogfish.
A Missing Herd of Hogfish
When Freddi and Luther arrive at Calico Ranch, they find a big problem. Cousin Calico's valuable hogfish herd has been stolen! Calico can't call the police because the Sheriff is out of town. So, Freddi and Luther bravely offer to help find the missing hogfish and catch the thieves.
Clues in Briny Gulch
Their search leads them to Briny Gulch, a nearby town. There, they meet Saltwater Stella, who runs the local soda shop. She tells them about two suspicious characters who visited her shop recently. While investigating, Luther finds a secret note left by the rustlers. The note mentions a meeting at a shipwreck called the Rusty Rustler, which will happen at high tide.
Sneaking into the Hideout
Freddi and Luther head to the shipwreck. They use a secret code from the note to open a hidden entrance. Inside, they can hear the hogfish! But a slim fish, one of the rustlers, stops them. He says the hideout is only for rustlers. These rustlers are very picky about their clothes! So, Freddi and Luther must find materials to make special rustler disguises using a magazine ad the rustler gave them.
Rescuing the Hogfish
Once they have their disguises, Freddi and Luther can finally get into the shipwreck. But oh no! Luther accidentally pops out of his disguise. The rustlers catch them and throw them into a cell. Luckily, their cell is right above where the hogfish are kept! They find a tiny hole and squeeze out. Exploring the wreck, they find a hook. They use the hook with an anchor's chain to break open the hogfish's cell window, freeing all the fish!
Unmasking Mr. Big
Now, Freddi and Luther need to find out who "Mr. Big" is. Mr. Big is the secret leader who planned the whole hogfish theft. Freddi remembers hearing one of the townspeople talking about the plan. After gathering all the clues, they finally figure out who the thief is! The culprit explains why they stole the hogfish. Freddi teaches them an important lesson: "You shouldn't take things that don't belong to you, it hurts other people." The thief learns from their mistake.
A Happy Ending
In the end, the rustlers get a new, honest job helping Cousin Calico on her hogfish ranch. Cousin Calico thanks Freddi and Luther for their amazing detective work. She gives Freddi a ten-gallon hat and Luther a five-gallon hat. She even teaches them how to lasso, just like real hogfish ranchers! As the game credits roll, Freddi and Luther sing "Home on the Range," and sometimes Luther adds his own song, "Clementine."
How to Play: Gameplay Basics
Freddi Fish 4 plays much like the other games in the series. It's a point-and-click adventure game. This means you click on different objects and characters on the screen to explore, find clues, and solve puzzles.
Multiple Endings
One cool thing about this game, like the third Freddi Fish game, is that it has multiple endings. This means the story can end in different ways! The game changes based on the clues Freddi and Luther find. There are four possible suspects who could be Mr. Big, and each one has a different reason for stealing the hogfish. This makes the game fun to play more than once!
