Freddie Roach's Playing Days
Freddie Roach was a talented linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide college team from 2002 to 2005. He played a key role in their defense during those years. After his college career in Tuscaloosa, Roach tried to join the New England Patriots in 2006. He signed with them as a free agent, but he was released before the regular season began.

Starting at Alabama (First Time)
Roach began his coaching journey at the University of Alabama in 2008. He worked under famous coach Nick Saban as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. This means he helped players get stronger and fitter. He stayed in this role until 2010. During this time, he helped the Crimson Tide win a national championship in 2009.
Coaching at Other Colleges
After his first time at Alabama, Roach gained more experience at other universities.
