Frenchman's Cay is a small, beautiful island located in the British Virgin Islands, a group of islands in the Caribbean Sea. It's a fun place to visit and explore!
This cay (which is another word for a small, low island) is quite close to other islands. It's about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) southeast of Great Thatch and only about 400 meters (437 yards) east of Little Thatch.
Connecting to Tortola
One cool thing about Frenchman's Cay is that it's connected to Tortola, the main island of the British Virgin Islands. A very short bridge links Frenchman's Cay to the west end of Tortola. This makes it super easy to travel between the two islands!
Size and What You'll Find
Frenchman's Cay is about 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) long and around 500 yards (457 meters) wide. Even though it's small, it has a lot to offer!
You'll find several houses on the island, making it a home for some people. There are also two restaurants where you can grab a tasty meal. If you love boats, you'll be happy to know there's a marina. Plus, there's a hotel called Frenchman's Hotel, which is a resort complex where visitors can stay and enjoy their vacation.
