Fry and Laurie are a famous English comedy duo. They are made up of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. They were very active in the 1980s and 1990s. Stephen and Hugh met in 1980 at the University of Cambridge. Their friend Emma Thompson introduced them. They became well-known for their TV show, A Bit of Fry & Laurie. They also starred in Jeeves and Wooster. In this show, Stephen played Jeeves and Hugh played Wooster.
After A Bit of Fry and Laurie ended, both actors started their own successful careers. They reunited in 2010 for a special show called Fry and Laurie Reunited. In 2012, Stephen Fry shared that they were working on a new project. This project was planned to be an animated movie of The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde. As of 2019, this film was still being developed.
Unlike some comedy duos, Fry and Laurie have stayed very close friends. Hugh Laurie often thanks Stephen Fry when he wins awards. For example, at the 2007 Golden Globes, he called Stephen his "colleague" in their old comedy style.
