Furtei is a small town, also called a comune (which means municipality), in the beautiful Sardinia region of Italy. It is located in the Province of South Sardinia, which is a part of the larger island. Furtei is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Cagliari, a big city in Sardinia. It is also very close to another town called Sanluri, only about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) away.
As of December 2004, about 1,657 people lived in Furtei. The town covers an area of about 26.1 square kilometers (10.1 square miles). People from Furtei are called Furteresi.
