Future-Worm! is an American comic science fiction animated television series created by Ryan Quincy. He also created Out There for IFC. This fun show from Disney XD is all about the adventures of a boy named Danny and his amazing friend, Future-Worm. They travel through time using a special lunch box that works as a time machine!
After some short preview episodes, the full show started on August 1, 2016. It ran for one season and ended on May 19, 2018. On June 29, 2018, Disney XD announced that Future-Worm! would not be getting a second season.

What is Future-Worm! About?
The story follows Danny Douglas, a 13-year-old boy. He invents a time-traveling lunch box. He sends it back in time, but it accidentally goes far into the future. There, future scientists find it. Because the lunch box is small, the scientists use a worm and turn it into Future-Worm. This special worm has a Photo Receptor Visor, super strong Titanium Reinforced Abs, and a Bullet-Proof Beard!
Future-Worm travels back to Danny's time. The boy and the worm meet and become best friends. Danny's life changes forever as they go on awesome adventures. They travel to the past, present, and future. They also meet new friends and get help from their pal, Bug.
Who are the Characters?
Main Characters
- Danny Douglas (voiced by Andy Milonakis) – He is the boy who invents the Time Machine Lunch Box. Danny goes on many exciting adventures with Future-Worm.
- Future-Worm (voiced by James Adomian) – This is a worm from the future, often called Fyootch. He has a cool photo receptor visor, super strong abs, and a bullet-proof beard. Future-Worm is Danny's best friend and helps him on all his quests.
- Bug (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) – She is a purple-haired girl who has wings.
- Robo-Carp (voiced by Ryan Quincy) – This is a fish-shaped robot. Every time Danny tries to use him, he just explodes, which makes him pretty useless!

- Doug Douglas (voiced by Ryan Quincy) – Danny's father.
- Megan Douglas (voiced by Melanie Lynskey) – Danny's mother.
- Steak Starbolt (voiced by Jonathan Frakes) – He is the hero of his own TV show. Steak Starbolt is also Danny's favorite hero.
- Narrator (voiced by Corey Burton) – This is the unseen voice who tells the story. He also names the different gadgets Danny and Future-Worm use.
- Future Danny (voiced by Paul Williams) – This is Danny's older self from the future.
- Neil deGrasse Tyson (voiced by himself) – He is a real-life scientist who knows everything about science. In the show, he can also read minds!
- Madeline – A girl from the Victorian past who can travel through time.
Villains
- Gloopies – These are alien creatures who do not like Captain Cakerz cereal. Their weakness is the crunch of the cereal.
- Anchovy Monster – A giant anchovy monster. It wants revenge on Future-Worm because Future-Worm doesn't like anchovies.
How Was the Show Made?
The characters of Future-Worm! first appeared in Disney XD's plans for 2015. A series of short episodes came out later that same year.
Disney first planned for the show to start in the fall of 2015. However, another show called Pickle and Peanut premiered first. This pushed Future-Worm!'s debut to August 1, 2016.
The series was created by Ryan Quincy. He was also an animation director for the show South Park.
The animation for Future-Worm! was done by Titmouse, Inc.. This studio also worked on other Disney XD shows. These include Motorcity and Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. They also animated characters for Kirby Buckets.

The show had 5 short episodes that aired in 2015. The main series then ran from 2016 to 2018. It had 21 episodes, which were made up of 40 shorter segments. Each full episode was usually 22 minutes long. It often had three parts: an eleven-minute story, a three-minute story, and a seven-minute story.
The final episode, titled "Finale," showed Future Granny Danny trying to destroy all timelines. Danny and Future-Worm had to stop her. The episode featured characters from other Disney XD shows like Star vs. the Forces of Evil and Gravity Falls.
