Gadiel "Cho" Sánchez Rivera is a brave adventurer and jungle expert from Peru. He is known for his amazing journeys through wild places. In August 2010, he finished a very long walk along the Amazon River. Later, in 2013, he became the first person to kayak all the way around Lake Titicaca!

About Gadiel Sánchez Rivera
Early Life and Passions
Gadiel was born in 1978 in a city called Pucallpa, in Peru. When he was younger, he worked as a farmer. He also worked as a logger, cutting down trees. However, he did not like how logging harmed the environment. This made him want to protect nature.
Becoming an Explorer
Gadiel became an expert in the jungle. He learned how to survive and navigate through thick forests. His knowledge of the Amazon rainforest and its rivers is very deep. This made him a perfect guide for difficult expeditions.
Amazing Expeditions
Gadiel has been part of many incredible adventures. He has explored some of the wildest places on Earth.
Walking the Amazon River
From 2008 to 2010, Gadiel joined adventurer Ed Stafford on a huge journey. They walked the entire length of the Amazon River. Gadiel was a key jungle guide and team member. This amazing trip was even shown in a TV show called "Walking the Amazon" on the Discovery Channel.
Kayaking Lake Titicaca
In 2013, Gadiel went on another big adventure called the TitiKayak expedition. He teamed up with Louis-Philippe Loncke. Together, they became the first people to kayak all the way around Lake Titicaca. This huge lake is very high up in the Andes mountains.
Mapping the Lake
During their trip, they also created the first detailed photo map of the lake. They took GPS coordinates and pictures of the shoreline. This helped to show exactly where the water met the land.
Discovering Giant Frogs
They also took underwater photos on the northern side of the lake in Bolivia. They were looking for the home of a special animal. This animal is the giant frog called Telmatobius culeus. It is a very unique frog that lives only in Lake Titicaca.
Solo Amazon Journey
In 2015, Gadiel was hired as a guide and helper for a Polish adventurer named Marcin Gienieczko. Gadiel helped Marcin travel through some very tough parts of the Amazon jungle. These areas can be dangerous and hard to cross.
Biking Across South America
In 2016, Gadiel joined another exciting journey. He was part of a team with Laura Bingham. They went on a long biking trip. Their adventure took them all the way from Ecuador to Argentina.
