Gadsby is a small community called a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada. It is part of the County of Stettler No. 6. You can find Gadsby east of Red Deer on Highway 852, just north of Highway 12. Gadsby was first set up in 1909 and used to be a village. However, in early 2020, it changed its status to a hamlet.

Gadsby's Story: A Look at Its Past
Gadsby got its name from Henry Franklin Gadsby, a reporter from Toronto. A post office was opened in his honor in 1909.
On May 6, 1910, Gadsby officially became a village. For a while, it was known as Alberta's smallest village. In 2016, only 40 people lived there. On February 1, 2020, Gadsby stopped being a village. It became a hamlet under the care of the County of Stettler No. 6.
