Galla Aruna Kumari is an important Indian politician. She was born on August 1, 1944. Her father, Paturi Rajagopala Naidu, was also a well-known Indian parliamentarian and social activist.
Aruna Kumari has held many important roles in the government of Andhra Pradesh, India. She was a Minister and a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Chandragiri constituency. She is currently a politburo member of the Telugu Desam Party.

A Life in Politics
Galla Aruna Kumari has had a long and active career in politics. She first became an MLA for the Chandragiri area in 1989. An MLA is a person elected by the people to represent them in the state's law-making body. She served in this role from 1989 to 1994, and again from 1999 to 2014.
Important Roles as Minister
Aruna Kumari also served as a Minister in the government. A Minister is a high-ranking official who leads a specific department. She held several key positions, helping to manage important areas for the state.
Helping People with Health
From 2004 to 2009, she was the Minister for Medical Education and Health Insurance. During this time, she helped create a big health program called Aarogyasri. This program aimed to provide health insurance to many people, making sure they could get medical care.
Building Roads and Managing Mines
Later, from 2009 to 2010, she was the Minister for Roads and Buildings. In this role, she was in charge of building and maintaining roads and other government buildings. Galla Aruna Kumari studied computer science at Lake View College. After her studies, she worked as a computer programmer. She even became a departmental head for Management Information Systems in the sales division at the Chrysler Corporation.
Family and Other Interests
Aruna Kumari is married to Galla Ramachandra Naidu. He is an industrialist and started the Amara Raja Group of Companies. Their son, Jayadev Galla, is also a well-known figure. Besides her political work, Aruna Kumari is also a writer. She has written several novels in the Telugu language.
