Gambrills is a small area in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, in the United States. It's part of the Annapolis metro area. Gambrills is actually two nearby places: an unincorporated community and a "census-designated place" (CDP). A CDP is a special area defined by the government for counting people.
The area was named after Augustine Gambrill, who owned a large farm here a long time ago. The Gambrills CDP covers a wide area that includes parts of Crofton, Waugh Chapel, and Odenton. It also shares borders with Davidsonville, Crownsville, Millersville, and Prince George's County, Maryland.

History of Gambrills
The original village of Gambrills was once located on Annapolis Road. Today, it is an unincorporated area and a census-designated place. Gambrills is known as the birthplace and childhood home of a very important person named Johns Hopkins. He grew up at a place called Whites Hall Farm.

Getting Around Gambrills
Gambrills has good transportation links. It is served by Route 3 and Route 32. You can also use MARC, which is Maryland's commuter train service. There is a MARC train station in nearby Odenton. Gambrills is located along Maryland Route 175 (Annapolis Road) and extends south and southeast around the town of Crofton.
