Garrett W. Johnson was born on May 24, 1984. He is an American businessman and a talented shot put athlete. Garrett won national championships in shot put in 2006. He was also chosen as a Rhodes Scholar in 2006. This is a special scholarship to study at Oxford University. Garrett is a co-founder and chairman of the Foundation for American Innovation. He also helped start Hydra Host, a company worth a lot of money.

Garrett's Career
After finishing his studies at Oxford, Garrett Johnson worked for the Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations. This committee helps the U.S. government work with other countries.
In 2011, Garrett started a company called SendHub. He co-founded it with Ash Rust and John Fallone. SendHub was a company that helped businesses send text messages for marketing.
Later, in 2014, Garrett also helped create the Lincoln Network. This is a non-profit organization.
School and Studies
Garrett Johnson was a top student in high school. He was the salutatorian of his class in 2002. This means he was the second-highest-ranking student. He went to Tampa Baptist Academy in Florida. There, he won many state championships in sports.
Garrett then went to Florida State University (FSU). He started there in the summer of 2002. He finished his college degree in just three years. He studied two subjects: Political Science and English. He graduated with high honors, called magna cum laude.
Garrett was also a great student-athlete. He was named an academic All-American in 2005 and 2006. He also won the Florida State Golden Torch Award. This award goes to the FSU student-athlete with the best grades. Garrett was on the Dean's list and the President's list. This means he had excellent grades throughout college.
In 2006, Garrett became a Rhodes Scholar. He used this scholarship to study at Oxford University in England. He earned a master's degree from Exeter College. His studies focused on migration.
Track and Field Achievements
Garrett Johnson was a very successful shot put athlete.
- He won the 2006 NCAA Indoor National Championship in Shot Put.
- He also won the 2006 NCAA Outdoor National Championship in Shot Put.
- In 2008, he set a new club record for Oxford University.
Harlis Meaders was Garrett's coach. Garrett tried out for the 2008 USA Track & Field Olympic team. He made it to the finals but did not record a valid throw.
Personal Life
Garrett Johnson lives in Florida. He got married in 2014. He is involved in several organizations. He is on the board of directors for the Foundation for Florida's Future. He also advises the Cicero Institute. He is a member of the Tech Talent Project's Steering Committee.
