Gayane Khachaturian (born May 9, 1942 – died May 1, 2009) was a talented artist from Georgia and Armenia. She was known for her amazing paintings and drawings.
About Gayane Khachaturian
Gayane Khachaturian was born in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. Her family was Armenian. She studied art at the Nikoladze Art School.
She became very involved in the art world after finishing school in 1960. In 1967, she met Sergei Parajanov, a famous film director. They became close friends and stayed that way until he passed away.
Her Artworks
Many of Gayane Khachaturian's paintings are shown in museums. You can see her art at the Yerevan Museum of Modern Art. Her works are also at the National Gallery of Armenia. The Sergei Parajanov Museum in Yerevan also has some of her pieces.
Some of her art is kept in private collections. These are art pieces owned by people like Valerie Khanukaev and Bagrat Nikogosyan. When she was alive, her small art studio in Tbilisi became a popular place for tourists to visit.
Her Legacy
Gayane Khachaturian passed away on May 1, 2009. She is buried in the Armenian Pantheon of Tbilisi, also known as Khojivank. She is remembered as an important artist who brought new ideas to the art world.

Gayane Khachaturian's first art show was in 1967. It was held at the Skvoznyachok Café in Yerevan. Her friend Sergei Parajanov invited her to show her work there. After that, her art was shown in many different places:
