Gaylord is a city in the state of Minnesota, United States. It is the main city, or county seat, of Sibley County. Gaylord is located right next to Titlow Lake.
This city is about 65 miles (105 km) west-southwest of the big cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul. In 2010, about 2,305 people lived in Gaylord.

Discovering Gaylord's Past
Long ago, in the 1850s, a popular trail used to go through the area where Gaylord is now. This trail led to the Dakota Territory.
The city of Gaylord was officially planned out in 1881. It was named after Edward W. Gaylord, who was an important person in the railroad business. A post office has been open in Gaylord since 1881, helping people send and receive mail.
Today, the mayor of Gaylord is Dawn Kratzke. The city council helps make decisions for the city. They meet regularly at Gaylord City Hall.

Three main roads pass through Gaylord. These are Minnesota State Highways 5, 19, and 22. These highways help people travel in and out of the community.
