Gazini Christiana Jordi Acopiado Ganados, born on December 26, 1995, is a Filipino model. She is also a beauty queen who won the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2019. Gazini represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant. There, she made it to the Top 20 and also won the Best National Costume award.

About Gazini Ganados
Her Early Life and School
Gazini Christiana Jordi Acopiado Ganados was born in Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. Her parents later separated. Gazini was raised by her grandparents. When she was in sixth grade, her family moved to Talisay, Cebu, where they still live.
She studied at the University of San Jose–Recoletos in Cebu City. She earned a degree in Tourism Management. She also received a certificate in Health Care Services NCII.
Her Journey in Pageants
Gazini Ganados has competed in several beauty pageants. These competitions are where women show their beauty, talent, and intelligence.
Miss World Philippines 2014
In 2014, Gazini joined the Miss World Philippines 2014 pageant. She performed well and placed in the Top 13. The winner of that pageant was Valerie Weigmann.
Binibining Pilipinas 2019
On June 9, 2019, Gazini competed in the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 pageant. She represented her city, Talisay, Cebu. She won the main title, becoming Miss Universe Philippines 2019.
Gazini is the second woman from Cebu to win the Binibining Pilipinas Universe title. The first was Pilar Pilapil in 1967. During the national costume part of the competition, Gazini wore an outfit inspired by Queen Juana. Queen Juana was a queen from the ancient Rajahnate of Cebu. Her costume also celebrated the Sinulog Festival of Cebu.
Gazini has Middle Eastern roots, so she performed a belly dance for the talent competition. She is very close to her grandparents. Because of this, her main goal is to support elderly care. Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray, crowned Gazini.
Gazini also won two special awards:
- Best in Long Gown
- Face of Binibini (also known as Miss Photogenic)
During the question and answer part of the pageant, she was asked about helping women in the workplace. She answered that she would promote her advocacy. This advocacy is about women fighting for their rights and supporting elderly care. She believes that with love and encouragement, women can achieve their dreams.
On October 25, 2020, Gazini crowned Rabiya Mateo as the new Miss Universe Philippines. This happened at the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant in Baguio, Benguet.
Miss Universe 2019
As Miss Universe Philippines 2019, Gazini represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant. This big event took place on December 8, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
For the national costume competition, Gazini wore a costume inspired by the Philippine eagle. It had two life-sized birds on each shoulder. The outfit was carefully hand-stitched.
During the preliminary competition, Gazini introduced herself and her country. She wore a lavender gown. For the swimsuit part, she showed off her 'phoenix' walk in a black bikini with a bright yellow cape. She wore a golden gown for the evening gown competition. This gown was similar to the pink one she wore when she won Miss Universe Philippines 2019.
At the final coronation night, Gazini made it into the Top 20 as one of the wildcards. In her opening statement, she talked about her passion for elderly care. She explained that her grandparents raised her, and she worked with an organization that helps older people. She believes it's important to remember that older generations paved the way for us. She said we should give back that love and make sure no one is left behind.
Gazini finished her Miss Universe journey as a Top 20 semifinalist. She also won the Best in National Costume award. The winner of the Miss Universe 2019 pageant was Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa.
