Geneva is a small, unincorporated community located in Bear Lake County, Idaho, in the United States. It sits right on the eastern edge of Idaho, very close to the border with Wyoming. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a group of homes and businesses, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.

Location and Roads
Geneva is located only about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) west of the state line between Idaho and Wyoming. A main road, U.S. Route 89, passes through Geneva. This road goes west for about 15 miles (24 kilometers) to Montpelier. If you head northeast on the same road, it's about 23 miles (37 kilometers) to Smoot, Wyoming. Another road, Idaho State Highway 61, goes south for a short distance to connect with Wyoming Highway 89 and Border Junction, Wyoming, which is about 13 miles (21 kilometers) south.
A Look Back in Time
The community of Geneva has had a post office since 1898. The first settlers in this area came from Geneva, Switzerland. They named their new home in Idaho after their original home country. There is also a cemetery in the community called the Geneva Cemetery.
Over the years, the number of people living in Geneva has changed. In 1909, there were 165 residents. By 1960, the population was much smaller, with only 10 people living there.
