George Lincoln Rockwell (born March 9, 1918 – died August 25, 1967) was an American political figure. He founded the American Nazi Party in 1959. He became a leading voice for Neo-Nazism in the United States.
His ideas and writings have continued to influence many groups. These groups believe in the idea of white people being superior to others.

Who Was George Lincoln Rockwell?
George Lincoln Rockwell was born in Bloomington, Illinois. He briefly studied philosophy at Brown University. However, he left college to join the Navy. He trained to be a pilot.
His Military Service
Rockwell served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He held non-combat roles during these conflicts. He reached the rank of Commander. His political views became more extreme in the 1950s. Because of these views, he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1960.
His Political Beliefs
In his political life, Rockwell often praised Adolf Hitler. He called Hitler the "White Savior of the twentieth century." He held strong beliefs about race. He thought that different races should live separately. He supported the idea of racial segregation. This means keeping people of different races apart.
Rockwell believed that African Americans should be moved to a new African country. He thought the U.S. government should pay for this. He also blamed the civil rights movement on certain groups. He saw many people as traitors. He believed that black people were a simple race. He thought they only wanted easy pleasures. He agreed with some leaders of the Black separatism movement.
In his later years, Rockwell worked with other Neo-Nazi groups. He led the World Union of National Socialists.
His Later Years and Death
On August 25, 1967, George Lincoln Rockwell was killed. He was in Arlington. He was shot by John Patler. Patler was a former member of Rockwell's party. Rockwell had removed him from the group.
