Fun Things to Do at the Park

George P. Cossar State Park offers many exciting activities for visitors. Most of these activities take place on or near Enid Lake.

Water Activities on Enid Lake

Enid Lake is huge, covering about 28,000 acres! It's a perfect spot for many water sports. You can go boating and waterskiing on the lake. If you love to fish, you're in luck! Enid Lake is famous for its great fishing. In fact, the world record for catching a type of fish called a crappie was set here in 1954.

Staying Overnight and Playing Games

The park has plenty of places to stay. There are 76 campsites where you can set up your tent or park your RV. If you prefer a cabin, there are 13 cozy camper cabins available. For fun, you can play a round of disc golf on the 18-hole course. Disc golf is like regular golf, but you throw a frisbee into a basket instead of hitting a ball into a hole. There's also an 18-hole miniature golf course, which is always a blast!

Exploring Nature and Relaxing

If you enjoy being outdoors, you can visit the park's visitors center. There's also a nice picnic area where you can enjoy a meal with your family and friends. For a peaceful walk, try the 2.2-mile nature trail. It's a great way to see the local plants and animals. Much of the land around Enid Lake and in the nearby Holly Springs National Forest is open for hunting.
