Georgia-Mae Fenton, born on November 2, 2000, is a talented English artistic gymnast. She is a key member of both the British national gymnastics team and the England Commonwealth Games team. Georgia-Mae is famous for her amazing skills on the uneven bars. She won gold medals on this apparatus at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games. In 2022, she also helped the England team win a gold medal.

With the Great Britain team, Georgia-Mae earned silver medals at the 2022 European Championships and the 2022 World Championships. A huge moment came in 2023 when her team won the gold medal at the European Championships. This was the first time a British women's team achieved this! In her home country, Georgia-Mae has also won four English championships and two British championships.

2016: First Senior Competitions

In 2016, Georgia-Mae was old enough to compete as a senior gymnast. She took part in her first senior English Championships in March. Even with a broken hand a month before, she won a bronze medal on the floor exercise! Later, at the British Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around competition. She also finished sixth on floor and eighth on uneven bars.

2017: A Skill Named After Her!

The next year, Georgia-Mae continued to shine. At the British Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the uneven bars. She then competed at the Varna World Challenge Cup in Bulgaria. There, she earned a silver medal on the balance beam.

A very special moment happened at the 2017 World Championships in Montreal. Georgia-Mae and Nina Derwael from Belgium performed a new move on the uneven bars. This difficult skill was named the "Derwael-Fenton" in the official gymnastics rulebook, the Code of Points. This is a huge honor for a gymnast!

2018: Commonwealth Games Champion

Georgia-Mae won a bronze medal in the all-around at the English Championships. She was chosen to represent England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. Her team won a silver medal in the team competition. This was a fantastic achievement!

Individually, Georgia-Mae achieved her first major senior championship win. She won a gold medal on the uneven bars! Later that year, she competed at the European Championships. Her British team finished fourth. She also reached the floor final, placing eighth.

2019: Team Success and Olympic Qualification

Georgia-Mae started 2019 by winning gold on the floor at the English Championships. At the British Championships, she won gold medals on both the uneven bars and the balance beam. She also placed fifth in the all-around. She competed at the European Games in Belarus, finishing eighth in the all-around.

A big goal for gymnasts is the Olympics. Georgia-Mae was part of the British team at the 2019 World Championships. The team finished sixth, which earned them a spot for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo!

2020-2021: Overcoming Challenges

The world faced challenges in 2020, and many sports events were canceled. Georgia-Mae's competitions were also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. She did not compete for the rest of 2020.

In June 2021, she was named as an alternate for the British team at the postponed 2020 Olympic Games. This meant she was ready to step in if needed. Later that year, she competed at the 2021 World Championships. She reached the all-around final and finished seventeenth.

2022: Double Commonwealth Gold and World Silver

The year 2022 was very successful for Georgia-Mae. At the English Championships, she won gold medals on bars and beam. She also earned silver on bars and bronze on beam at the British Championships.

She again represented England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Her team won a gold medal! Georgia-Mae made history by becoming the first woman to win the individual uneven bars title twice in a row at the Commonwealth Games. She won another gold medal on her favorite apparatus!

After the Commonwealth Games, she joined the Great Britain team for the European Championships. The team won a silver medal, placing second behind Italy. Georgia-Mae also reached the uneven bars final, finishing sixth. She then helped Great Britain win a silver medal at the 2022 World Championships. This was the highest placement ever for a British team at a World Championships!

2023: European Team Gold Medalist

Georgia-Mae continued her strong performances in 2023. She competed at the English and Welsh Championships, winning the all-around at the Welsh event. She was part of the team for the European Championships. Here, the Great Britain team made history again by winning their first-ever team gold medal! Georgia-Mae also qualified for the all-around final.

Later in 2023, she helped the British team qualify second for the team final at the World Championships. The team finished sixth in the final.

2024: Olympic Dreams and European Medals

In 2024, Georgia-Mae started her season with a silver medal on the uneven bars at the English Championships. She also won a bronze medal on the uneven bars at the Antalya Challenge Cup. She was selected for the European Championships team. The team won a silver medal, and Georgia-Mae earned an individual bronze medal on the uneven bars.

A huge highlight of 2024 was her selection to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris! At the Olympic Games, she helped her team qualify for the team final, where they finished fourth. She also qualified for the all-around final, placing eighteenth.

2025: Continuing to Shine

Georgia-Mae started 2025 by competing at the Koper Challenge Cup. She showed her amazing skills on the balance beam, winning a gold medal!
