Gesico, also known as Gèsigu in the Sardinian language, is a small town or comune in Italy. It is located on the beautiful island of Sardinia, which is a region of Italy. Gesico is about 45 kilometers (28 miles) north of a larger city called Cagliari.
As of December 31, 2004, about 954 people lived in Gesico. The town covers an area of about 25.5 square kilometers (9.8 square miles). Gesico shares its borders with several other towns. These include Escolca, Guamaggiore, Guasila, Mandas, Selegas, Suelli, and Villanovafranca.
Population Changes in Gesico
The number of people living in Gesico has changed quite a bit over the years. For example, in 1861, there were 992 residents. By 1881, the population had dropped to 742 people.
However, the population started to grow again in the 20th century. In 1951, Gesico had 1,189 residents, and by 1971, it reached its highest point with 1,239 people. After that, the population slowly decreased. By 2001, there were 988 people living in Gesico.
