Mandas is a small town, also called a comune (municipality), located on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. It's part of the South Sardinia area. Mandas is about 50 kilometers (around 31 miles) north of a bigger city called Cagliari. In 2004, about 2,401 people lived there, and the town covers an area of 45 square kilometers (about 17.4 square miles).
Mandas shares its borders with several other towns. These include Escolca, Gergei, Gesico, Nurri, Serri, Siurgus Donigala, and Suelli.

D. H. Lawrence's Journey
In January 1921, a famous writer named D. H. Lawrence visited Mandas. He traveled with his wife, Frieda. They were on their way to another town called Sorgono.
