Gideon Gela-Mosby, born on December 27, 1996, is an Australian professional rugby league player. He used to play for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL.

Early Life and Rugby Beginnings

Gideon Gela-Mosby was born in Cairns, Australia. His family comes from the Torres Strait Islands, which are a group of islands north of Queensland. He spent his early years on a small place called Darnley Island in the Torres Strait.

Interestingly, Gideon didn't play rugby league until he moved back to Cairns for high school. While there, he played for junior teams like the Cairns Kangaroos and Edmonton Storm. Because of his parents' connection to Daru Island, which is part of Papua New Guinea, Gideon might also be able to play for the Papua New Guinean national team.

In 2015, Gideon joined the North Queensland Cowboys and played for their NYC team. He had an amazing season, breaking the NYC record for most tries in a single season by scoring 39 tries in 25 games! He was also selected for the Queensland under-20 team and was named in the NYC Team of the Year. In August 2015, he signed a new contract with the Cowboys until the end of 2017.

Gideon continued to impress in 2016. He played in the Cowboys' Auckland Nines tournament, scoring 4 tries. After scoring 10 tries in 11 games for the Pride, Gideon returned to the Cowboys' NRL team, playing in the last four games of the season and scoring three tries.

In 2019, Gideon played only three games for the Cowboys. He spent most of the season playing for the Northern Pride. In Round 12, he broke his collarbone during a game against the Gold Coast Titans. On September 13, it was announced that he would not be re-signed by the Cowboys.
