Gina Moxley is an Irish writer, director, and actress. She was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1957. Gina is a member of Aosdána, which is a special group for talented artists in Ireland.

Gina Moxley's Journey in Arts
Gina Moxley first studied fine art at the Crawford School of Art. She wanted to work as a designer for a theatre company in Dublin. Instead, they asked her to try out for an acting role.
Early Plays and Film Work
Gina's first play was called Danti-Dan. It came out in 1995 and won the Stewart Parker Trust Award. This award is given to new Irish playwrights.
In 1996, Gina helped create the idea for the film Snakes and Ladders. She also acted in the movie as one of the main characters. Her next play, Dog House, was released in 1997. It was a play for one actor.
Further Education and Award-Winning Shows
Gina continued her education at the Oscar Wilde Centre. She earned a special degree from Trinity College Dublin in 2006.
In 2014, her play How to Keep an Alien won the award for best production. This happened at the Dublin Fringe Festival.
Her play The Patient Gloria was shown at the Abbey Theatre in 2018. This play was based on an old film from 1965. In 2019, The Patient Gloria won two awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. These were the Fringe First and Herald Angel awards.
