About Gina Moxley
Early Life and Education
Gina Moxley was born in the city of Cork, Ireland, in 1957. She first studied fine art at the Crawford School of Art. Later, she earned a special degree (an M.Phil.) from Trinity College Dublin in 2006.
Starting Her Career
Gina wanted to be a designer for a theater group in Dublin. But instead, they asked her to try out for an acting role! This led her to a career in acting and writing plays.

Plays and Awards
Gina Moxley has written many plays. Her very first play, Danti-Dan, came out in 1995. It was a big success and won the Stewart Parker Trust Award. In 1997, she wrote Dog House, a play with just one actor about a teenager's struggles.
Another one of her plays, How to Keep an Alien, won an award for best production at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2014.
In 2018, her play The Patient Gloria was shown at the famous Abbey Theatre. This play was inspired by an old film from 1965. It later won two awards, the Fringe First and Herald Angel awards, at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Acting Roles
Besides writing, Gina is also a busy actress. She has performed a lot on stage in plays. You might have also seen her in some films and TV shows made in Ireland. These include Game of Thrones, The Butcher Boy, and Titanic: Blood and Steel. In 1996, she helped create the idea for the film Snakes and Ladders and also starred in it.
Other Writings
Gina has also written plays for the radio. She has written short stories too. She even wrote a chapter for a special story called Yeats is Dead!, which was written by many different authors.
Recognition
In 2020, Gina Moxley was chosen to be a member of Aosdána. This is a very special honor for artists in Ireland.
