Gisclareny is a small town, called a municipality, in the Berguedà region of Catalonia, Spain. It is found inside the beautiful Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.
In 2018, Gisclareny became the smallest village in Catalonia again. This happened after another village, Sant Jaume de Frontanyà, grew a bit bigger. The town sits at different heights, from about 800 meters (2,625 feet) near Bagà to 1,430 meters (4,690 feet) at Coll de la Bena.
It is surrounded by other places. To the north are Cerdanya and the tall peaks of the Serra del Cadí mountains. To the south and west are Saldes and Vallcebre. To the east are Bagà and Guardiola de Berguedà. The area is mostly covered in alpine forests and green meadows. Many farmhouses are spread out across the land.
Gisclareny's Economy
The main way people make a living in Gisclareny is through agriculture. This means growing crops on land that doesn't get much rain, known as dryland farming. They also raise animals, which is called animal husbandry.
