A Look at Glasgow's Past
During the American Revolution, Glasgow was known as Aikentown. It got this name from Matthew Aiken, who owned a local tavern. Later, settlers from Scotland moved to the area. They decided to rename the town Glasgow, just like the famous city in Scotland.
Two important historical buildings in Glasgow are La Grange and the James Stewart House. These places are so special that they are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are protected because of their historical importance.
