About Glen Alpine's Location
Glen Alpine is found in the western part of Burke County. It shares a border with the city of Morganton to its southeast.
Roads and Travel
U.S. Route 70 goes right through the town. It is known as Main Street there. Interstate 40 also passes just south of Glen Alpine. You can get to the town from exits 98 and 100 on Interstate 40.
Using U.S. Route 70, it is about 5 miles (8 km) east to reach downtown Morganton. If you travel west, it's about 15 miles (24 km) to the town of Marion.
