Glen Falls is a small place in Harrison County, West Virginia, United States. It's not a city with its own government, but rather an unincorporated community. You can find Glen Falls about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Clarksburg, right by the West Fork River.

Discovering Glen Falls: A Community Overview

Glen Falls is mostly a place where people live. Many residents travel to nearby Clarksburg for work or school. This makes Glen Falls a "bedroom community." The water for the area comes from the Clarksburg Water Board.

A Look at Glen Falls' History

Glen Falls has an interesting past. A big part of the community used to be a coal camp. This camp was built around the year 1880. Coal camps were special towns built for miners and their families.

Important Buildings and Places

The Glen Falls Baptist Church is an important part of the community. It was started a long time ago, in 1901. There were once two schools in Glen Falls, but they are now closed. The buildings were taken down.

In the early 1900s, there was also a train station by the West Fork River. This station was more than just a place for trains. It had different stores and even a doctor's office! Some of the old houses from the coal camp are still standing today. This includes the house where the coal camp superintendent lived, along with some homes for the workers.
